This policy explains what information Jotted collects, why, and what we do with it. We tried to write it in plain language instead of legal fog. If anything is unclear, email [email protected] and we will explain.
If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, so we can email you when Jotted launches. That is all.
If you create an account, we collect your email address and basic account details. Every Jotted user has an account, including free users. If you subscribe, our payment provider handles your card details; we never see or store your full card number.
On the free plan, recordings and transcripts are created and kept on your own computer. They are not uploaded to us, and we cannot see them.
On paid plans, recordings you choose to keep in the cloud are uploaded to our storage so you can access and share them. We process your transcript to create summaries and action items, and we send the audio of the other participants to our speaker-labeling provider so the transcript can show who said what. Your own microphone audio is not sent for this. We only access this content to provide the service to you.
We collect basic technical information needed to run the service, such as how much processing your account uses, so we can keep the service working and prevent abuse.
We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train AI models, and we never sell your personal information to anyone.
To run Jotted we rely on a few trusted service providers, who only handle your data to do their specific job:
When you share a recording with a link, anyone who has that link can watch it without an account. You control this: recordings are private by default, and you can revoke a share link at any time, which stops it from working.
We keep your data while your account is active. When you cancel or an account is closed, cloud data is deleted on the schedule described in our Terms of Service. Recordings on your own computer are always yours and are never affected. You can delete individual cloud recordings, or your whole account, at any time.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. To make a request, email [email protected] and we will help.
We use reasonable measures to protect your data, including encryption for cloud recordings. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and design Jotted to keep your recordings private by default.
Jotted is not intended for children. Do not use Jotted if you are under the age required to form a contract where you live.
We may update this policy as Jotted grows. If we make an important change, we will let you know.
